This painting depicts a small section of the high forest of the Kaçkar Mountains, capturing a fragment of the natural habitat of Üsküt Mountain. It features a wide variety of plants, including Dryopteris sp., Rubus sp., Rhododendron ponticum, Arctium platylepis (baldikeni) and Trachystemon orientale (puğre). This commissioned painting took almost a year to complete. It was later exhibited at "Rooted: The Garden Within" exhibition at Şule Gazioğlu Gallery in 2026. The original artwork is held in a private collection.
HABITAT

This painting shows only a small portion of the magnificent forest edges of Aşağı Vice, a village in the Çamlıhemşin district of Türkiye. Even in such small areas, many different species coexist in harmony. The balance created by this complexity is truly admirable. The magnificent composition they create together, and the equilibrium it holds, is — in my opinion — something you would not want to touch or disturb. Or perhaps you can tell me: is there a plant in this painting that you feel would be better left out?
