This course offers a wonderful holiday opportunity with a relaxing atmosphere whilst helping you to develop your skills and knowledge of botanical art. Yaghane Hostel is organising this course with excellent hospitality, providing the opportunity to paint seasonal plants with a fresh approach. The course will take place in the lovely garden of Yaghane, a charming stone hostel where you can relax and enjoy delicious food whilst improving your knowledge of botanical art.
This foundation course is aimed at introducing you to the basic techniques of watercolour used in botanical illustration. The classes teach students to draw plants accurately by observing basic botanical shapes and structures and illustrating them with botanical precision, with a focus on developing your ability to:
See and identify shapes
Judge angles
Draw in proportion
Represent form through tonal value
Use light and shade to make your drawings life-like
Apply watercolour washes and mix colours
This course will help you to combine scientific accuracy with an aesthetic vision to create beautiful botanical paintings.
