RICE PAPER

More recently, I have been exploring painting on Chinese rice paper and Japanese washi paper. You will find some examples of these illustrations in this gallery. The original artworks in this collection are held in various private and public collections around the world.

I collected my specimen from the Kaçkar Mountains, where it grows in abundance but only in certain areas and blooms fully in summer. It was exhibited at my solo exhibition Habitat in Çamlıhemşin (2024), and is now part of the exhibition "In Bloom" at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (March–August 2026)
